Campus Missionary:
Enlist, Educate, Equip, Empower, Encourage. Campus Missionary exists to
encourage students to be commissioned by their church and to be
committed to sharing the Gospel at their school. They are also equipped
with tools needed to reach their school for Jesus Christ.
Strategy
- Overview - The Campus
Missionary strategy is a bold concept for evangelizing the 56,000 secondary
school campuses in America. It revolves around the idea that school campuses
are mission fields, Christian students are missionaries, and churches are
sending agencies. Teachers, administrators, coaches, and parents are limited in
their freedom to share the gospel in an educational setting, but students are
native to school culture and have more opportunities to share the love of
Jesus.
However, they must be awakened to the spiritual needs of their fellow students
and to the opportunities they have to meet those needs. They must be enlisted,
educated, equipped, empowered, and encouraged to set the example of a
believer's lifestyle. If students can develop a foundation of service while
they are teen-agers, they can continue to join God in His work of
reconciliation and can be "on mission" every day of their
lives.
